Round Wales Itinerary

Day 1 – first cycling day

Bath to Chepstow (over the Severn bridge) – 50 km 
Using Sustrans Route 4 starting in Bath and crossing the River Severn on the way to Chepstow.

Sustrans Route 4 A long distance route between London and Fishguard via Reading, Bath, Bristol, Newport, Swansea, Carmarthen, Tenby, Haverfordwest and St. Davids.

Chepstow – Abergavenny (national cycle road) – 50 km
Abergavenny – Builth Wells (national cycle road) – 60 km

Day 2 – second cycling day

Builth Wells – Rhayader – Llanidloes (national cycle road 81) – 50 km
Llanidloes – Caersws – Mallwyd (national cycle road 81) – 45 km
Mallwyd – Betws-y-Coed (Snowdonian Mountains) – 60 km

National Route 81 connects Aberystwyth and Wolverhampton via Shrewsbury and Telford

Day 3 – third cycling day

Betws-y-Coed – Barmouth – Dogellau (along the coast) – 75 km
Dogellau – Aberdovey – Machynlleth – Aberystwyth (along the coast) – 85 km

Day 4 – fourth cycling day

Aberystwyth – Tregaron – Lampeter (national cycle road 82) through the Cambrian mountains – 60 km
Lampeter – Newcastle Emylyn (national cycle road 82) – Cardigan – 65 km

National Route 82 of the National Cycle Network will run from Bangor to Fishguard when complete.
