Oriel mwldan will be showing original paintings, prints and drawings in this popular annual group exhibition from Cardigan Art Society. CAS showcases works from local artists, ranging from skilful, self-taught amateurs to successful professionals across a range of ages and artistic mediums. Opening event 18:00 24.03.17

Through the Paper Window - Lea Sautin

Through the Paper Window - Lea Sautin Saturday 29th April 2017 - Sunday 18th June Location: Oriel Mwldan

Lea Sautin’s artwork focuses on the storytelling traditions of Wales, exploring distortions and transformations that occur over time, across languages and between formats (from oral performance to illustrated manuscript). Using elements taken from ancient Welsh tales as the basis for her work, Sautin uses print to sculpture to photography to reflect the evolution and alteration of the stories themselves. Through her work Lea Sautin celebrates the shifting craft of the storyteller; whether the medium is spoken, written or drawn. On Saturday 29th April there will be storytelling and music with Lynne Denman in the gallery 4 pm - free entry #ffenestrbapur

Barley Saturday Cardigan 2017

Barley Saturday Cardigan 2017 Saturday 29th April 2017 Location: Cardigan & Around

Barley Saturday has since the 19th Century, been held on the last Saturday in April - it is an unique event in Cardigan. Barley Saturday saw farmers from surrounding area come to town to hire workers and to inspect stallions that are put out to stud. These days the horses are the centre of attention. After the 11.30am, judging of various horse competitions, the crowds gather to watch the horses do their parade around the Cardigan at approximately 2pm. The horses are followed by of vintage cars, motorbikes, tractors, carriages, milk floats and gypsy wagons.

Aberystwyth Cycle Festival

Aberystwyth Cycle Festival Monday 22nd May 2017 - Tuesday 30th May Location: Aberystwyth

A celebration of cycling in Mid Wales, including town centre criterium racing, downhill mountain biking and a mass participation ride - the Continental Welsh Wild West Sportive, covering all the best roads in Ceredigion. Aberystwyth Cycle Festival brings you the televised 'Tour Series' professional race to the famous promenade as the flagship event of the festival. With some of Britain’s top cyclists making a rare appearance in Mid Wales, festival visitors can watch the all the on & off road action and also experience the beautiful and undiscovered lanes of Ceredigion on their own bikes.

Fishguard Folk Festival

Fishguard Folk Festival Friday 26th May 2017 - Monday 29th May Location: Fishguard - Various Venues

Concerts, Ceilidhs (Irish equivalent of the English Barn Dance or Welsh Twmpath), Workshops, Singarounds

The festival takes place in a wide range of venues from the town square to the Yacht Club in Fishguard old town.
