Try the A40 via Oxford to Lampeter and then on to the Ceredigion coast. It might take all day but there is a very pleasant journey through some interesting towns and villages.

Road Travel

There are four main routes into West Wales from England.

From London and Southern England. (About 4-5 hours) M4 /A48 to Carmarthen and then the A484 to Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan.

From the North Midlands (About 3 hours) Try the M54/A5 to Telford, then A458/A470/A489 to Machynlleth and the A487 to Aberystwyth.
