Did you know that Cardigan Bay has the largest population of dolphins in Europe?
There are numerous other beaches of varying size along the Cardigan Bay coast, though many of them can only be reached on foot using either local walks or the Wales coast path. For example, on the walk from CwmTydu to New Quay, you pass above Castell Bach Beach and cross Treath Soden [Cwm Silio]. Walking from Penbryn to Llangrannog there is the lovely beach at Treath Bach.
The beaches of Aberporth have an all-terrain beach wheelchair available from the Lifeguard hut. Parking bay available near the dolphin sculpture.
Newport and Poppit Sands have specially designed beach wheelchairs available to hire under the Pembrokeshire National Park Authority’s beach wheelchairs scheme for a small fee or no charge.

There are lifeboat stations along the Cardigan Bay coast at Abersoch, Pwllheli, Criccieth, Barmouth, Aberdovey, Borth, Aberystwyth, New Quay, Cardigan, Fishguard and St. David’s. The volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour rescue service and depend on your donations to keep saving lives at sea. www.rnli.org
