From London Great Western Railway run an hourly service from London Paddington to Swansea with a connection to Carmarthen, journey time 4 hours.

For Aberystwyth travel from London Euston via Birmingham.
Journey time about 5 hours.
Again a delightful train journey with some lovely views particularly from Machynlleth along the Dyfi estuary.

Traveller’s Tips

A few trains are straight through to Carmarthen, check when booking.

Apex fares are available if you book 7 days in advance.

The views of the Tywi estuary between Swansea and Carmarthen are stunning. Look out for the herons fishing on the banks of the river.

From Birmingham There is a regular service every two hours to Aberystwyth. Again a delightful train journey with some lovely views particularly from Machynlleth along the Dyfi estuary.

From Manchester There is a regular service to Aberystwyth. Change at Shrewsbury.

Eurostar services from Paris, Lille and Brussels arrive at London Waterloo. There is a direct service from Waterloo to Carmarthen.
It takes 5 hours but is a very pleasant journey through southern England and Wales.

For Euston use the Underground Northern Line.

For Paddington use the Jubilee line to Baker Street and then the Circle line to Paddington.
